Manage Pre-Screening Questions with Sandbox Timeclock Survey

Over the last year or so COVID has brought about many changes in our lives. In addition to the regular ups and downs of life, the pandemic has impacted people in a major way both on a personal level and a business level. 

During this time, many have found the childcare and daycare industry to be an essential service, causing it to be front and center in the design of new workplace regulations and protocols in order to prevent the spread of disease and keep our precious kiddos safe while maintaining the services many rely on.

This means that childcare centers have been forced to take on new responsibilities like building COVID response plans, practicing physical distancing, moving to contactless sign in, and the list goes on. They have also been pushed to adopt new management practices including online registration, online billing, and other paperless and contactless methods.

Alongside the move to contactless sign in, many centers (depending on the region) are now required to have a pre-screening questionnaire filled out by parents during the check-in process. This is a completely new practice for many centers and as a result it has created a lot of stress and confusion for owners and teachers.


What is the pre-screening questionnaire?

With new COVID regulations and protocol, pre-screening questions are an additional piece of information that centers all over North America have been forced to track. This form has multiple questions that vary based on the state or province and are related to topics surrounding exposure, symptoms, or contacts with COVID. This prescreening questionnaire is meant to ensure the safety of the children attending the center and prevent the spread of the virus. 

Currently most centers are forced to use manual methods such as paper or spreadsheets to manage this, which has added an additional burden to the daily responsibilities for many centers and their clients. We are happy to announce that we have released a brand new feature that seamlessly integrates this questionnaire into the sign-in process in Sandbox! 


How does it work?

The new pre-screening questionnaire is built right into the sign-in process with Sandbox. When signing a child in for the day using the contactless sign-in or regular sign-in process, a new screen has been introduced which allows parents to complete a short questionnaire before completing the sign in/out process for their child.

We have also built this questionnaire with customizable fields, allowing you to add any questions that you are required to ask based on the licensing requirements in your area.

This provides a simple and intuitive process for parents, allowing you to keep the sign-in process at your center as simple and efficient as possible. The information is then stored securely in Sandbox which you are able to access at any time if required for your records or for licensing.

Is there an additional charge?

We are excited to share that this new feature is available for no additional charge and is accessible immediately to all active Sandbox users. This feature aligns well with the addition of contactless sign-in as a response to the new COVID restrictions. We are dedicated to helping you, our customers, in any way possible in a time that you need us most and we hope this is another step towards that goal!
